A (9) nine-day intensive procurement training program aimed at building the capacity and enhancing the knowledge of procurement practitioners from various procuring entities of the Liberian government in the procurement of Goods, Works, and Services, is taking place in the training room of the Liberia Institute of Public Administration in Mamba Point.

The training program is a collaborative effort of three key institutions including the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), and the World Bank sponsored International Procurement Agency (IPA).

The training program will be conducted in phases spread over three months period. According to the calendar of events, phase one of the training program will concentrate on the procurement of goods while the second phase will focus on the procurement of works. The last phase of the training program which runs from March 3-5 and 17-19, 2009 will address the issue of procurement of services and planning. Certificates will be awarded at the end of the program.

At the moment, the International Procurement Agency (IPA) is collaborating with the Civil Service Agency and Liberia Institute of Public Administration for the development of training modules and appropriate courses for a Medium and Long Term training in procurement.
