Empowering Change: Liberia's e-GP System Takes Center Stage
Liberia’s journey toward a fully digitized government public procurement process is taking a significant leap forward with the introduction of the e-Government Procurement (e-GP) system.
The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) recently launched an intensive and comprehensive "Training of Trainers" engagement at the Bella Casa Hotel, targeting some of the government’s largest spending Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions who were selected as the initial six (6) MACs for the piloting phase of the project. The training is conducted under the theme: “Digitalizing Public Procurement Activities for Enhanced Accountability, Transparency, and Value for Money!”
The training, which is scheduled to run from August 19th to 23rd, 2024, focuses initially on key institutions such as the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Liberia Revenue Authority, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, and the Ministry of Education.
This initiative, supported by the Government of Liberia and the World Bank aims to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills to effectively navigate and utilize this transformative system. By embracing digital procurement, Liberia is paving the way for greater accountability, transparency, competition, and value for money in public procurement activities.
