CARP Chairperson - Cllr. Sundaiway E. Nelson Amegashine
Cllr. Sundaiway E. Nelson Amegashie is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in human rights and public sector law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia, and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree with an Advanced Certificate in International Human Rights Law from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., USA. Prior to her legal studies, Cllr. Amegashie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting from the University of Liberia.With nearly two decades of experience in the field of human rights, she has served in various capacities, including with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), the Foundation for International Dignity (FIND), and as a Commissioner at the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) during the administration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Cllr. Amegashie brings a wealth of experience working in various capacities across several legal human rights institutions, earning a reputation for competence, integrity, and commitment to the rule of law. From 2015 to 2021, she served as Associate Chief Counsel for Protests and Objections at the Liberia Revenue Authority. More recently, she worked as Legal Capacity Building Officer with the Winrock International/ATLAS Project. She is the former President of the Grand Bassa County Bar Association. Currently, Cllr. Amegashie serves as Secretary General of the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL), and is the current Chairperson of the Complaints, Appeals, and Review Panel of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC).
